The Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) is responsible for the protection of human, animal and Plant Health and for food quality and safety. The Institute of Sustainable Plant Production (NPP) at AGES is responsible for the identification of plant quarantine pests and diseases, diagnostic laboratory tests with approved and accredited standard methods and training courses for phytosanitary inspectors and pest risk assessment studies, with regard to all phytosanitary pests. At the NPP exists a basic reference collection of quarantine pests as well as a large collection of related insect and fungal taxa of plant pests. The NPP provides scientific advice on phytosanitary diagnostics to the Plant Health authorities of the Provinces and to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (= BMLFUW) and other stakeholders.

Participant 12 (AGES) will lead WP6 and will participate in all other work packages.
